“I am very upset that I and the others who contributed for the Tennis Courts in Aperi did not get recognized instead Zorzis was who had nothing to do with the Tennis courts has his name on a plaque.
This is how the tennis courts were able to be built. The land that was donated for the tennis courts in Aperi, was my land, Maria Makris Bylek, who my mother Joyce Makris gave to me. With the help of my cousin Nikos Papanikitas whose mother Rigo, was my mothers’ sister.
He helped with the paperwork to donate the land. If I had not donated the land, there would be no tennis courts. I don’t know why someone else is getting the credit or my donated land. My mother god rest her soul would be rolling in her grave if she heard about this.
Because she had a genuine love for the island, specifically Aperi where she grew up. I am not only sending this message for me but for everyone else who helped make the tennis courts happen who are not getting the proper recognition and credit for their contribution. There should be something in place to display every person who helped make the tennis courts possible.”
